Ningbo Freco Composite Co., Ltd. was founded in May 2019, born out of the vision and dedication of its founding team. With roots tracing back to 2012, the team has been deeply involved in automotive lightweighting solutions. Through observing international market trends in organic sheets, they became firmly convinced that thermoplastic composites represent a key direction for new energy vehicle materials. Among continuous fiber reinforced thermoplastic composites (CFRTP), the fabric-reinforced type—organic sheets—is regarded as a critical variety poised for widespread adoption. However, at the time, there was no domestic mass production of such materials, nor were complete sets of manufacturing processes available.
After conducting thorough research and formalizing the project,Ningbo Freco Composite Co., Ltd. was established. As a startup, the company positions itself as a technology-driven materials enterprise, mastering core technologies and specializing in the R&D and large-scale production of organic sheets. It is emerging as a pioneer in this field in China, offering innovative material solutions for the lightweight product market.
The company’s core technical strength lies in designing and producing organic sheets that closely meet market demands, while also providing technical support such as product structural design and optimization, as well as production process improvements. The first continuous production line is capable of mass-producing laminated sheets with a width of approximately 1200mm and a thickness of ≤3mm. The designed annual production capacity for mass production is 500,000 square meters, equivalent to about 1,000 tons. To meet the growing demands of the domestic market, the company plans to install at least five production lines by 2025. Additionally, it is equipped with prototype development machinery to fulfill customers’ small-batch and customized needs. This enables the development of thermoplastic composites reinforced with fibers such as glass fiber, carbon fiber, aramid fiber, quartz fiber, basalt fiber, and self-reinforced PP/PE.
Currently, the company’s core team consists of 15 members, all holding bachelor’s degrees or higher, with intermediate or senior professional titles accounting for 80% of the team. Among them, the technical lead is an internationally renowned figure with over 20 years of experience in the continuous fiber reinforced thermoplastic composites industry, having successfully developed dozens of product applications. Technologically, the company also maintains deep and close collaborations with research institutions and universities such as the Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Ningbo University, accelerating the development and promotion of material application technologies.
